When deconstruction is a Risk Management strategy...
A wrecking ball broke loose from the demolition of part of a library at Allegheny College and struck a car driven by one of the college's students. Fortunately, the student wasn't hurt. Thus, the story makes for a humorous bit of ammo to add to any sales pitch for doing deconstruction rather than demolition the next time your school absolutely must raze (rather than reuse) an old structure. There are no 1,500 lb wrecking balls to endanger the public when a building is deconstructed. Full AP article on MSNBC.
