Directory of AASHE Business Members Provides Useful New Tool
AASHE recently launched a Directory of AASHE Business Members as a benefit to our members and the public. Nearly 150 companies are currently listed, with new members added each week. Users can browse a dozen main product and service categories to find what they need, from buildings & grounds, food & dining, and waste & recycling, to educational resources & technology, sustainability consulting, and more.
This is a directory of business that have shown a commitment to higher education sustainability through their membership in AASHE. It is publicly available, and we hope it becomes a valuable tool in advancing campus sustainability efforts.
AASHE Business Leaders and Supporters are given special designation in the directory, as are companies that focus exclusively on higher education. In addition, links are provided to any page where a company lists its higher education projects or clients separately from other clients/projects.
We would love to hear your feedback on the directory and how it might be improved. Our plans include transitioning the current directory to an actual database (as opposed to a static list). Once that happens, we would be able to include additional context for each company, such as user recommendations, client references, product information, company descriptions, and links to a company’s sustainability ratings and recognitions. We could also allow sorting and filtering, and finer categories. But if you have ideas for how the directory can currently be improved, please let us know at membership@aashe.org.
Note: if you have worked with an AASHE business member on a successful project, consider co-presenting with the company at the AASHE 2010 conference, or submitting the project for a case study award.
Happy searching!
