Announcing AASHE's Open Space Conference Call Line

-It's like an open space session at a conference, but virtual (thus saving a few GHG emissions)!

AASHE has launched its Open Space Conference Call Line, on which AASHE members can host discussions on topics related to campus sustainability.  Perhaps you successfully coordinated a residence hall energy conservation competition and want to share best practices with others in the campus sustainability community – don't wait until the next conference – use the AASHE Open Space Conference Call Line!  The best part is - you can record it so that others will have access to the information provided on your call in the form of a podcast.

You can read about the details of scheduling a call here

Perhaps you don't feel confident enough to schedule your own call just yet, or you aren't an expert on every single campus sustainability topic (I suspect most of us aren't). In this case you can participate in calls - participation is free to AASHE members and non-members alike

Another added bonus is that if you miss a call, it's possible that the call coordinator recorded it and posted it online as a podcast.

The first scheduled call is "The Role of the System in Sustainability: An Introduction to the Concept of Sustainability in the Systems Office," and it's scheduled for this Thursday, April 16th, from 3:30 – 5pm EDT. On the call, Corey Hawkey, Sustainability Projects Coordinator for the Ohio Board of Regents; Matt St. Clair, Sustainability Manager at the University of California;  and Bridget Burns, Policy and Research Associate at the Oregon University System will discuss their experiences with sustainability at the system office level, and participants will get a chance to share as well. The goal of the call is to start a conversation and a community among system office sustainability advocates.

Don't miss it!
