AASHE believes that now is the time to accelerate bold climate action. As a result, the organization is now a signatory for the US Action for Climate Empowerment National Strategic Framework that focuses on Article 12 of the Paris Agreement: Action for Climate Empowerment (ACE).
More specifically, this framework encourages the Biden administration to accomplish the following in the first 100 days:
- Establish a joint federal and civil society effort, based on the ACE Strategic Framework, to implement Article 12 of the Paris Agreement by developing an ACE National Strategy for completion by COP26.
- Strengthen the U.S. commitment to climate action by identifying the ACE National Strategy in the updated Nationally Determined Contribution.
- Use the ACE national strategy to guide all climate action in ways that are just, equitable, and participatory.
