Right now, the focus is on an emergency stimulus package to stabilize our economy for the short term. AASHE signed the Open Letter and Call to Action to Members of Congress that focuses on the long-term challenges of jumpstarting economic recovery and transitioning to a sustainable economy. The letter proposes a Green Stimulus of at least $2 trillion that would create green jobs, improve standards of living, accelerate a just transition from fossil fuels, and overall make our economy more resilient by aligning with the 5 Principles for Just COVID-19 Relief and Stimulus.
