My mission is to inspire meaningful action towards sustainability, where innovation and collaboration lead us to a future that prioritizes our planet and people equally.

About

Meghna serves as the Chief Sustainability Officer at The University of Texas at Arlington (UTA), where she supports the operations and strategic planning of university-wide sustainability practices, programs, and policies. In this role, she collaborates with operations units, academic and research departments, student organizations, and external partners to advance sustainability across the institution.

In addition, Meghna is serving as Chief Sustainability Officer for the Dallas FIFA World Cup 2026. Her work addresses a wide range of environmental topics, including waste management, water conservation, energy efficiency, carbon reduction, transportation, air quality, and environmental awareness. Her focus is on minimizing the event’s environmental footprint while empowering communities and leaving a legacy of positive change in the Dallas–Fort Worth area.

She is the founder and director of the Regional Center of Expertise for Education in Sustainable Development (RCE North Texas), a program of the United Nations University, and was awarded the 2022 United Nations Association Global Leadership Award.

Meghna also serves on the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine’s Roundtable on Science and Technology for Sustainability and is a member of the Board of Directors for ICLEI USA (International Council for Local Environmental Initiatives). She has also served on the Board of Directors for the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE) and on the National Academies’ Board on Higher Education and Workforce Development.

She holds an MBA in Sustainable Management, an M.S. in Environmental Science, and an M.S. in Chemistry.
