AASHE Membership Description

Welcome to the AASHE membership page. Our member institutions include colleges and universities throughout the U.S. and Canada. In addition, businesses, nonprofits, K-12 schools, college or university system offices, and government agencies may join AASHE and help advance our mission.  Please see our current list of members.

A.  College and University Membership (U.S., Canada Mexico)

A campus membership connects your institution with the growing network of colleges, universities and other organizations that are working to achieve a prosperous, equitable, and ecologically healthy world.  Membership covers every individual at your school - so the entire campus community may take advantage of AASHE member benefits.  This type of membership is virtually unique among higher education associations, but necessary since all sectors of campus must work collaboratively and learn from each other in advancing sustainability.

Membership provides excellent value for a campus, offering access to a rich array of online resources as well as opportunities for networking, information sharing, and professional development.  One benefit most often mentioned is the learning that takes place when multiple sectors of higher education are brought together in our workshops, trainings, and conferences.  Please encourage your campus to join!

B.  International Affiliate Membership - for Colleges and Universities Outside the U.S., Canada, Mexico

International affiliate members are colleges and universities in countries other than the U.S., Canada, and Mexico.  A growing number of higher education institutions around the world are joining AASHE and benefiting from access to member-only resources.  Recognizing that international members are not able to take full advantage of all member benefits, dues for international affiliates are adjusted accordingly.

C.  Business Alliance Program Membership

With AASHE's Business Alliance Program, businesses may join AASHE at one of three levels:  Associate, Supporter and Leader.  Each level offers excellent value for your company, aligns you with other businesses who care about higher education and sustainability, and connects you to the growing network of colleges, universities and other organizations that are working to achieve a prosperous, equitable, and ecologically healthy world.

The three levels offer a progressive array of benefits, from the most basic membership benefits to those at the Leader level.
 

1. Business Associate

  • Access to AASHE's Resource Center
  • Authorized use of AASHE member logo
  • Networking opportunities with campuses
  • Listing on AASHE members page
  • Discounts on conferences and events

2. Business Supporter

All Business Associate benefits above, plus:

  • Opportunity to offer an educational webinar (includes an announcement to AASHE's email list)
  • Complimentary sponsorship of AASHE Digest (1/2-page recognition)
  • A featured interview in AASHE's Blog
  • Logo and link on AASHE’s website (membership section)
  • 10% discount on conference sponsorship

3. Business Leader

All Business Associate benefits above, plus:

  • Opportunity to offer 2 educational webinars (each includes an announcment to AASHE's email list)
  • Complimentary sponsorship of the AASHE Digest (full-page recognition)
  • A featured interview in AASHE's Blog
  • Two single-issue sponsorships of AASHE Bulletin
  • Recognition as a sponsor of a relevant section of the Resource Center, including the Forum
  • Logo and two lines of descriptive text on AASHE website – membership section
  • 15% discount on biennial conference sponsorship

Dues & Application Form:

D.  Other: System Offices, K-12, Higher Education Associations, Government, other Non-profits

System offices of colleges and universities, higher education associations, NGOs, government agencies, K-12 schools, and other non-profits have joined AASHE to access member benefits and support sustainability in higher education.  The rates are inexpensive, and the value is excellent.
