Hi everyone,
We are installing 5 filling stations in residence hall lobbies this summer at the University of South Carolina. What have you found to be good ways to promote them to students/staff/visitors? Hopefully they will see them and start using them, but we were also thinking about signage options, giving out reusable bottles etc... as ways to encourage use. Any thoughts or ideas?
Thanks! Margaret
Thanks, the insert for the bottles is a great idea.

At VCU we have installed 38 water cooler/water bottle reflling stations in 31 buildings over the past year resulting in 2.8 million refills. We give away refillable water bottles at various sustainability events on campus and linked the hydration stations with the refillable water bottles. We list all the hydration staition locations on the refillable water bottles with the current refills "census" ie 2.8 million+ .

Hi Jacek,
Would you mind sharing your water bottle vendor with us at Emory? We are seeking a new style and really like yours.
Thanks!

Hi Ciannat,
I work with Jacek Ghosh at VCU Sustainability. We order our water bottles from a local company, Corporate Imprints. I hope this helps but let me know if you need anymore information.
Thanks!

Hello all,
SIUE installed fill stations with counters in all academic buildings on campus last August. Refills are over 100,000 and counting... for the past 3 years we have distributed reusable water bottles to all incoming freshmen with a message inside promoting the refill stations. our website address, and other eco-tips. We also give away bottles at events...Earth Day etc. Our student group SOS has promoted the national "Take Back the Tap" program and I believe we have had significant behavior change as a result of our efforts
Thanks
