NAME Annual Conference
October 8 - October 10
The theme for the National Association for Multicultural Education’s (NAME) 2020 international conference “Living Multicultural Education: Peace & Justice thru the Ballot Box & Activism,” reflects our current times: People need to vote!
In the spirit of fostering civil rights to ensure access to voting and education, NAME is partnering with Teaching Tolerance: A project of the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC), to host a range of engaging speakers, panels, workshops, lessons, and participants from Oct. 8-10. Key sessions will challenge anti-Blackness and highlight anti-racist strategies to address our interwoven struggles for freedom, with a focus on the role of education in fostering generations of those who labor for civil rights. The disparities in education highlighted by the new Coronavirus will be addressed, as well.
