On Friday, September 20, AASHE staff supported the Global Climate Strike, a movement led by youth leaders from around the globe to demand an end to the age of fossil fuels and bring attention to the climate crisis, by participating in demonstrations. As an organization focused on sustainability, it was vital to support other climate strikers in calling for action from world leaders to address the climate crisis.
In joining the Climate Strike event, AASHE acknowledged the effort with a banner and a full page announcement on the homepage of our website declaring a Digitial Climate Strike. We’re proud to have had staff representation in the events that took place in Boone, NC; Lexington, KY; Philadelphia, PA; and the District of Columbia.
