Membership Coordinator Position Opening
The Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE) seeks a Membership Coordinator to carry out a range of membership duties from communication and recruitment to data processing and analysis.
AASHE strives to provide excellent value and service to its nearly 900 members, who include colleges and universities, businesses, non-profit organizations, K-12 schools, and others. AASHE has about 15 staff with offices in 8 states. The ability to work within a distributed organization is vital to this position.
Duties
The Membership Coordinator is responsible for implementing the following tasks with the help of one or more assistants:
- Processing new and renewing memberships
- Coordinating communications related to membership
- Managing all membership-related data
- Responding to member inquiries and requests
- Generating and distributing scheduled membership reports
- Updating and enhancing AASHE’s membership web pages
- Assisting with membership recruitment and outreach campaigns
- Helping to promote AASHE services, resources and benefits
- Coordinating delivery of member benefits at higher levels of businesss membership
- Performing other duties as needed to support membership development
Skills and Qualifications
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong writing and editing skills
- Ability to rapidly learn new software applications
- Collaborative attitude
- Ability to work with limited supervision
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to consistently meet deadlines
- Ability to work overtime as required
- High level of individual initiative and creativity
- Intermediate-level knowledge of Excel
- Experience with Access software, including forms and queries
- Legal eligibility to work in the United States
Education and Experience
- Associate or Bachelor degree is preferred
- Background and interest in sustainability in higher education is preferred
- Experience in a higher/secondary education environment is a plus
- Two or more years of experience in member recruitment, sales, marketing, and/or member database management is a plus
Location
The Membership Coordinator works in AASHE’s business office in downtown Lexington, KY.
Hours and Compensation
This is a full-time, non-exempt position. Salary is $30,000–40,000, depending on experience. Health insurance is included.
Reporting/Supervising
This position reports to the Executive Director and works closely with AASHE's Business Manager and IT staff. The Membership Coordinator supervises one or more assistants.
