I'm looking for examples of campus Zero Waste policies. Googled for it and came up with some municipal examples and lots of website that talk about and advocate for zero waste, but couldn't find a list of policy examples from colleges. Anyone know where I can find a list of sample policies?
Thanks,

The Associated Students of Santa Monica College passed a Zero Waste policy for all events sponsored by A.S. last year. Just this past week, administration passed their own ZW Policy for all college events. I'm interested in finding out more about campus-wide policies as well, particularly for campus cafeterias.

Chris & Natasha, in your quest to find more information on ZW Practices among Universities we have been involved in several. Emory University here in Atlanta is presently using our product to dispose/reuse their food waste produced in their cafeterias. Starting this month we will be testing a unit at Arizona State University in addition to other Universities slated in 2010. We are able to dispose of 100% of their food waste and any compostable packaging.

Thanks and good luck!

Hi Chris,
The University of California's Policy on Sustainable Practices includes a commitment to zero waste by 2020 and mandates several steps to help get there. Similarly, the Evergreen State College's goal of being zero waste by 2020 is written into its Strategic and Master Plan. University of Florida has a goal of being zero waste by 2015 and they are currently developing a plan for getting there, but I'm not aware that they have a zero waste policy. Beyond that, it seems more common for campuses to adopt more general waste reduction or recycling policies (AASHE has a list of these that you may have already come across).
The other campus zero waste initiatives that I've come across tend to be focused on holding zero waste events - like football games, commencement, etc.
Best of luck,
Julian
