When Work WorksIn 2009, 2010, 2012 and 2017 AASHE received the When Work Works Award, formerly known as the Alfred P. Sloan Award for Business Excellence in Workplace Flexibility. The award honors employers that excel at offering a variety of initiatives that address additional evidence-based aspects of effective workplaces; autonomy; supervisor support for job success; co-worker support for job success; satisfaction with earnings, benefits and opportunities to advance; opportunities for learning; and a culture of trust, respect and belonging.

The When Work Works Award is part of the Society for Human Resource Management’s (SHRM’s) When Work Works project, a national initiative that helps employers become more successful by transforming the way they view and adopt effective and flexible workplaces.
