Awards & Accomplishments

AASHE has earned GuideStar’s Gold Seal after sharing information about our goals, strategies, capabilities, and progress. We’re shining a spotlight on the difference we help make in the world. GuideStar is the world’s largest source of information on nonprofit organizations.

In 2018, AASHE was recognized as a JUST Organization by the International Living Future Institute (ILFI). AASHE is the first organization in higher education to achieve JUST recognition. Described as a “nutrition label” for socially just and equitable organizations, the program is a transparency platform for organizations to disclose information about their operations, and requires reporting on a range of organization- and employee-related indicators.

When Work Works

In 2009, 2010, 2012 and 2017 AASHE received the When Work Works Award. The award honors employers that excel at offering a variety of initiatives that address additional evidence-based aspects of effective workplaces; autonomy; supervisor support for job success; co-worker support for job success; satisfaction with earnings, benefits and opportunities to advance; opportunities for learning; and a culture of trust, respect and belonging. The When Work Works Award is part of the Society for Human Resource Management’s (SHRM’s) When Work Works project.
