Through a caring, encouraging, and brave approach, the Conference Program Team aims to empower individuals, foster communities, and inspire meaningful transformation in higher education. Join the Deep South Center for Environmental Justice and the Bullard Center at Texas Southern University for the 11th Annual HBCU Climate Change Conference in New Orleans, March 18–22, 2026. This vital national conference unites HBCU faculty, students, researchers, climate professionals, and environmental justice community members to bridge academic research with real-world experiences.

This conference offers a space for renewal; for reclaiming higher education as a beacon of hope in a complex world. Together, we’ll reimagine what’s possible when we center humanity, dialogue, and shared purpose. We’ll challenge false binaries that limit growth and explore how higher education can cultivate a more inclusive, resilient, and joyful democracy. Through thoughtful reflection and bold action, we can build institutions that live up to the deepest ideals of “We the People.”

At the 2026 AGB Board Professionals Conference, participants will explore how boards can respect important traditions while also being open to new ideas and changes that help colleges and universities succeed.
