For the 2012 Campus Sustainability Case Study Awards AASHE will recognize the efforts of four campuses: two community colleges and two four year institutions. All campuses submitting for the awards will use the same application form but will be judged separately.
The categories will be divided by institution type and size.
Community College recognition:
- Best Case Study for a Community College with 5,000 or less full time students
- Best Case Study for a Community College with 5,001 or more full time students
Four year institution recognition:
- Best Case Study for a four year institution with 10,000 or less full time students
- Best Case Study for a four year institution with 10,001 or more full time students
Case studies may be from any sector of campus sustainability including campus Operations, Education and Research, and Planning, Engagement, and Administration. Note: if your case study is on a campus green building project you may consider applying for The Innovation in Green Building Award.
Submissions are judged on the following criteria:
- Overall impact of the project
- Innovativeness of the project
- Extent to which the case study serves as a model for others
- Clarity and coherence of the writing
The Campus Sustainability Award includes a complimentary conference pass to AASHE 2012 where the award will be presented. In addition, the winners of this year's award will be featured in Sustainability: The Journal of Record and invited to a VIP reception during the AASHE 2012 conference (Oct. 14-17 in Los Angeles, CA).
All Campus Sustainability Case Study Award applications have been posted publicly in AASHE's online resource center. We hope your research will help empower campuses to lead the sustainability transformation!
