AASHE offers an "open space" conference call line for anyone from a member institution to  to hold discussions on topics related to campus sustainability. (Here is a list of institutional members.)  For example, the conference line could be used to hold a discussion on ways to integrate sustainability into the curriculum or on how to start a campus recycling program.

Scheduling a Call

If you are interested in scheduling a call, please follow the scheduling instructions.  AASHE will publicize scheduled open space calls in the AASHE Bulletin and the AASHE Calendar as well as listing them below.  

While only folks from AASHE's member campuses are permitted to schedule and manage calls, anyone may join and participate in the calls unless otherwise limited by the organizer.  Business representatives are welcome to participate in relevant conference calls; however, commercial solicitations are not allowed.

Education for Sustainability Information Exchange

Presenter- Kankakee Community College Dean of Sustainability and HEASC Sustainability Fellow Bert Jacobson
Audience– Educators at colleges and universities who wish to develop and share ideas regarding educating undergraduates for sustainability.
Description- Kankakee Community College Dean of Sustainability and Higher Education Associations Sustainability Consortium (HEASC) Sustainability Fellow Bert Jacobson will address topics related to educating for a sustainable future through collaboration and institutional transformation. Jacobson will discuss the Sustainability Task Force of the South Metropolitan Higher Education Consortium's Sustainability Planning Workshop and the current status and lessons learned from the Illinois Green Economy Network’s statewide effort to create a standardized Greening Your Curriculum for faculty. The second half of the hour is time for participants to ask questions regarding their sustainability efforts and receive possible solutions and resources from participants.
