- Why book through AASHE?
AASHE contracts for hotel rooms to ensure you are provided with quality, convenient, and affordable hotel accommodations. The economic impact of the conference is strengthened when you stay at the hotel where we have contracted rooms, and you are guaranteed certain benefits when you book within the block, such as:
- We have an affordable group rate that goes against the grain of what we currently see happening in the hospitality industry. You won’t find a better room rate in Minneapolis!
- Even if the hotel is overbooked, the hotel cannot send you to another hotel because you have a confirmed reservation within the AASHE block.
- You don’t have to pre-pay for your entire stay if you book in the block, but you do if you book through a discount service.
- The elimination of “extra fees” you would be required to pay if you were traveling on your own. These fees can be quite expensive and add up to no small amount. The hotel will not impose additional mandatory charges such as energy surcharges, activity, or resort fees. However, if you book within the AASHE block, the only fees you must pay are the hotel room costs and applicable taxes.
- Beware of housing pirates
Commonly referred to as “housing pirates” or “housing bandits,” these are companies that phone, fax, or email attendees and exhibitors. They claim to offer good deals on hotel rooms. They may falsely claim to be affiliated with the hotel in our conference city or even with AASHE. This deceptive practice and the companies engaged in it are not affiliated with AASHE or the conference hotel.
The hotel will only contact you directly if there is a question about your reservation. Unless you have initiated the communication, please do not provide anyone with your personal information, especially your credit card number. If you provide your credit card information to one of these companies, your card may be charged, and there is no guarantee that you will have a room upon your arrival.
