Webinar: Summarizing Your STARS Report for Senior Leadership
December 1, 2021 @ 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm ESTFree
Webinar moved from 8/25 to 12/1
Building off of the “Conversations on STARS as a Strategic Tool for Advancing Sustainability” 2020 GCSHE presentation, this webinar will dive into the creation of the STARS Report Summary (presented by Boston University).
After completing a STARS report, it can be difficult for reporters to convey to their senior leaders the opportunities and difficulties the institution has in becoming sustainable. This webinar will show how Boston University has developed a one-pager and 10-page report summary used to effectively communicate: the state of the university, % of STARS credits achievable, improvement opportunities, and more.
Stephen Ellis, Director of Data Analytics, BU Sustainability, Boston University
Stephen Ellis oversees data collection, analysis, and reporting for BU Sustainability on a range of topics such as energy, waste, green buildings, and transportation, and key reports such as BU’s GHG (greenhouse gas) inventory, STARS (Sustainability Tracking, Assessment & Rating System) and BERDO (Building Energy Reporting and Disclosure Ordinance). Before joining Boston University, Stephen served as the Climate Programs Manager at Second Nature, a nonprofit focused on accelerating climate action in and through higher education. There he supported the program logistics and retention of the Presidents’ Climate Leadership Commitments and managed reported carbon and resilience assessment data for internal tracking and external grant reports.
