SPSP Sustainability Psychology Pre-Conference

February 16, 2022

The 11th annual Sustainability Psychology Preconference theme is “The Synergy of Psychological Theory and Environmental Impact.” Sustainability psychologists wrangle with the merits of basing research in theoretical contributions to social psychology or in impact to climate change and other environmental issues. The pre-conference will showcase exemplary research based in both theory and impact. It will include an expert panel discussion on bridging the two; how to use theory and impact to inform and strengthen the other. The pre-conference includes a keynote address, invited speaker sessions on theory, impact, and translating the two, blitz and poster sessions, and networking time. We invite researchers and practitioners, whether newcomers or established, to help us explore the latest research on environmental psychology, from understanding related theories such as group processes, habits, and social norms, to examining interventions to encourage climate change mitigation, resource conservation, and the maintenance of biodiversity.
