Safe and Sustainable Foodware: A Summit for the Great Lakes Region

The upcoming Safe and Sustainable Foodware: A Summit for the Great Lakes Region, takes place on Wednesday, June 4, at the University of Illinois Chicago Student Center East. This project encompasses Michigan, Indiana, and northern Illinois.
Hosted by UIC and Michigan Sustainable Business Forum, an AASHE Affiliate, and supported by the EPA, this one-day workshop will bring together university and other constituents from across the Great Lakes region to advance the adoption of certified-compostable and reusable foodware in institutional food service, such as on higher education campuses, and in restaurants.
Join with free registration. Transportation and lodging costs may also be covered, with priority given to attendees from minority-led and non-profit organizations
The event will feature:
- Expert presentations on PFAS, composting, and sustainable foodware solutions
- Practical strategies for procurement and implementation
- Policy and technical assistance development opportunities
