Webinar: Create Your Own Climate Change Quilt
September 10 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm EDT
FreeAre you frustrated with the lack of attention being given to climate change? Make your voices heard by participating in the Climate Change Quilt project. Join Binghamton University and the University of Vermont in their efforts to create at least 1,000 bed-sized quilts on the theme of climate change. In this webinar you will learn how to initiate a Climate Change Quilt project at your school. We will cover how to: set a goal for the number of quilt, determine a timeline for completion, identify an exhibition space, devise a strategy for involving students, faculty, staff and community members; obtain textiles without buying new, create patterns, and assemble the final quilt. We will discuss how to maximize participation so that even those who do not know how to sew can participate. For those who desire more hands-on instruction, we will be offering a quilting workshop at the AASHE Conference (if accepted).
