Business Membership

Membership is the first point of entry into AASHE for most businesses and provides an array of benefits including access to our members-only resource center, opportunities to connect with our campus members, and discounts on AASHE events. Of special relevance to business members, membership also includes discounts on many of the sponsorship opportunities described below.

Membership provides the foundation for further partnerships and we encourage businesses to join AASHE before pursuing the partnership opportunities described below.

Partnership Opportunities

Businesses are invited to partner with AASHE in the following ways:

Publication sponsorship - Businesses can sponsor AASHE Bulletin, AASHE Digest, and other publications, with special discounts for member businesses.

Program sponsorship - Many of AASHE's programs offer opportunities for sponsorship. We are currently seeking sponsors for the American College & University Presidents Climate Commitment, the Sustainability Tracking, Assessment, and Rating System (STARS), and a sustainability syllabi database.

Event sponsorship - Businesses are invited to sponsor AASHE's biennial conference and other events, including professional development workshops, webcasts, and audio conferences.

Exhibiting - AASHE conferences provide premier exhibiting opportunities for reaching the campus sustainability community.

Special offers to AASHE members - AASHE may be able to publicize special deals offered to AASHE members.

Member Spotlight

University of California Santa Barbara is our current spotlight campus! In April 2008, UCSB's chancellor approved a comprehensive Campus Sustainability Plan. The campus is one of only three universities in the LEED Portfolio Program, and currently has four LEED-certified buildings. In 2006, students approved a $2.60 per quarter fee to fund campus sustainability projects - the first UC campus to do so. Learn more
