International Association for Research on Service-Learning & Community Engagement Annual Conference
The annual IARSLCE conference is a scholarly venue to disseminate new knowledge on service-learning and community engagement. The conference theme, Researching Engagement Across Borders, is intended to encourage thoughtful intercultural dialogue about research and research-informed practice for the benefit of diverse stakeholders across an expansive SLCE community.
Coalition of Urban and Metropolitan Universities Annual Conference
The 2019 CUMU Annual Conference, All In: The Urban Mission, looks at the role higher education plays in creating significant, equitable outcomes in collaboration with the communities they serve. The theme asks CUMU members to reflect broadly and specifically on how the urban mission can be fully integrated, from real estate assets to college readiness pipeline programs, and into their operations, structure, partnerships and academic objectives.
Sustainability Literacy Symposium: Faculty, Staff, and Students as Agents of Change
This symposium aims to address the gap between practicing sustainability inside and outside of higher education institutions. It will focus on the means, methods and processes via which sustainability awareness and literacy may be fostered and deployed, as tools via which we can promote and support sustainability efforts, both within higher education and beyond.
Seventh Annual HBCU Climate Change Conference
The purpose of the conference is to bring together HBCU faculty and students, researchers, climate professionals and environmental justice, coastal community residents, and faith organizations impacted by toxic facilities and severe weather events related to climate change in order to bridge the gap between theory and the experiential realities of climate change. The conference will address issues related to climate justice, adaptation, community resilience, global climate issues, and other major climate change topics (i.e. transportation, energy sources, carbon emissions, green jobs/green economy, just transition, and community economic development).
