The International Society for the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning is helping to change the direction of higher education around the world. The Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning at Kennesaw State University is proud to be hosting ISSOTL 2019 in Atlanta, Georgia. The theme, SoTL Without Borders: Engaged Practices for Social Change, aims to examine global teaching practices in a meaningful way in the heart of the city of Atlanta.

Atlanta features institutions, landmarks, and businesses that contribute to this dialogue. As a social and political center, Atlanta is home to the Martin Luther King Jr. Center for Nonviolent Social Change; the Center for Civil and Human Rights, dedicated to the achievements of both the US Civil Rights Movement, and human rights movements worldwide; the AIDS Memorial Quilt, an enormous quilt that raises awareness and celebrates the lives of people who have died of AIDS; and the Jimmy Carter Library and Museum, which houses the former presidents’ papers and Nobel peace prize.
