Examining US University Sustainability & Recycling Activities
April 29 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm EDTFree
Higher education institutions are akin to mini-cities in that they have similar structures and operations – public grounds, housing, school facilities, offices, food facilities, solid waste management, etc. They can also be centers of innovation and proving grounds for new ideas. RRS recently released a study focusing on the progress of sustainability and recycling activities on US campuses. Join this webinar to hear about the report findings and how to use the data as a benchmark for university sustainability programs. The webinar will also feature two universities highlighting sustainability programs: Michigan State University will talk about their Surplus Store & Recycling Center, and Clemson University (South Carolina) will provide an overview of their composting program (including processing on campus, student-led projects, and the black soldier fly pilot).
