Please join us for this informative, lively discussion on the benefits of using natural aqueous ozone to clean higher education facilities instead of traditional chemical-based cleaners. Three highly knowledgable presenters–a scientist, from Canada, a sustainability expert from Dubai, and a Facility professional from the U.S. come together to propose an alternative way to kill viruses and bacteria without using chemicals. Topics addressed include:

  • The hazards of cleaning chemical overuse in response to the pandemic;
  • Challenges in adoption of alternative cleaning technologies like aqueous ozone and other engineered waters;
  • The 100 year-old science behind the efficacy of pathogen disinfection using aqueous ozone;
  • Strategies and benefits of tracking increased sustainability and decreased carbon footprint using aqueous ozone;
  • A case study from the University of Wisconsin Housing Department.

Presenters

Jodi Krause

Jodi Krause, Assistant Director of Housekeeping, University of Wisconsin

Jodi is the Assistant Director Housekeeping at University of Wisconsin — Madison and a founding member of Healthy Schools Campaign’s National Green Cleaning Schools Leadership Council. Jodi has worked in the custodial and maintenance field for more than 20 years. She’s currently oversees the UW-Madison night shift custodial crews, manages budgets and directs the university’s Products, Equipment & Testing Committee. Jodi has also been involved with her department’s sustainability programs for over 10 years.

Kerry Dagher

Kerry Dagher, Former – International Director of Cleaning Services, Sustainability, and Quality Assurance for WeWork Coworking Office Buildings

With a background predominantly in finance, operations and people, Kerry Dagher has constructed high-performing, best-in-class functions in the building operations real-estate space.
Kerry, was former EMEA/International Director of Soft Services and Quality Assurance Strategy as part of the building operations senior leadership team at WeWork. Her work has seen her travel the world and has influenced countries such as China, India, US and LATAM.
As a Workplace Strategy & Operations consultant, Kerry works with a variety of organisations and is currently based between Dubai and London. Her consulting services take her alongside senior executives to help them solve their toughest and most complex problems when creating the future of tomorrow’s workspace, with a focus on sustainability, innovation and smart building technology.
Kerry leads with an entrepreneurial vision to think big and drive change and does so with an engaged passion for elevating environmental consciousness and positively impacting the world.

Saad Jasim

Dr. Saad Jasim, President, International Ozone Association

Dr. Jasim received his PhD from University of Wales, Swansea, United Kingdom. He currently serves as the president of the International Ozone Association, the first Canadian to lead the organization (2020-2022). His focus is on solving challenges in drinking water quality, for example Arsenic and Manganese problem in drinking water in British Columbia, Canada. He has successfully introduced ozone as primary disinfectant for drinking water in Windsor, Ontario in 2001, the first City in Ontario. He also designed and successfully implemented ozone application for water reuse for Green House operation in Canada.
