EPA’s new ENERGY STAR College Course

FreeENERGY STAR now offers an updated curriculum on commercial building efficiency. The three-unit, college-level curriculum is more focused and interactive, and can be integrated as a module into existing courses or used as-is to create a standalone short course. The curriculum explores why efficiency matters, the barriers to it, strategies for overcoming those barriers, and practical, skills-based learning on assessing a building’s efficiency performance using ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager. Join this webinar for an overview of the materials available, to learn about how instructors have used previous iterations of the materials, and to ask questions. Students who complete the module or short course will be better positioned to engage with the growing number of benchmarking requirements and voluntary programs across the country.

Brendan Hall, Public Sector Program Manager, EPA ENERGY STAR Buildings program Brendan Hall is a Public Sector Program Manager with the EPA ENERGY STAR Buildings program. He’s been in the role for two years, serving as the higher education lead for the program and one of two staff supporting state and local governments across the country. Before EPA, Brendan worked on energy issues for the city of Ann Arbor in Michigan. He received a Masters of Public Policy and a Masters of Science in Environmental Policy from the University of Michigan. |

Jake Hildebrant, Assistant Professor, Institute of Engineering at Murray State University Jake Hildebrant is an Assistant Professor in the Institute of Engineering at Murray State University, and the program coordinator for the Electromechanical Engineering Technology program. He holds a M.S. in Engineering Technology Management from Western Kentucky University and a B.S. in Electromechanical Engineering Technology from Murray State University. |
