We cannot stand idly by as the global climate shifts, creating an untenable world for future generations the other species with whom we share this increasingly small and fragile planet. Colleges and universities hold a unique position in our society and have a special obligation to demonstrate intellectual and moral leadership, set an example, and inspire hope and action in others.
