Niles Barnes is the Projects Coordinator for AASHE providing implementation support to the American College & University Presidents Climate Commitment while helping develop AASHE's online Resource Center. Niles’s passion lies in helping colleges and universities achieve their sustainability goals, believing they can be strong transformative forces in putting our society on the path towards sustainability.
Previously, Niles worked at the University of Kentucky as Assistant Coordinator of the Residence Life Sustainability Program. Niles was also a co-founder of Greenway Transit, the first transportation company in North Carolina whose vehicles run solely on human energy and biofuels.
When not working, Niles can be found climbing in the Red River Gorge. Niles is a LEED Accredited Professional. Follow Niles on Twitter.
