Niles Barnes joined AASHE in 2007 as the projects coordinator where he helps to develop AASHE's online Resource Center while also providing support to the American College & University Presidents Climate Commitment. Niles’s passion lies in helping colleges and universities achieve their sustainability goals, believing they can be strong transformative forces in putting our society on the path towards sustainability. Previously, Niles worked at the University of Kentucky as Assistant Coordinator of the Residence Life Sustainability Program. Niles was also a co-founder of Greenway Transit, the first transportation company in North Carolina whose vehicles run solely on human energy and biofuels.  Niles holds a BA in Political Science from the University of Kentucky and is a LEED Accredited Professional. When not working, Niles can be found climbing in the Red River Gorge. Follow Niles on Twitter.
