Membership provides excellent value for non-profit organizations, offering access to AASHE's extensive collection of online resources as well as numerous opportunities for networking (see below).and exposure for your organization. If you are working with colleges and universities (or preparatory schools), are interested in helping campuses implement sustainability practices, or wish to align your organization with the growing campus sustainability movement, AASHE membership is for you.
Listed below are many of the tangble benefits of membership:
- Discounts - Receive reduced registration and exhibiting fees for AASHE conferences, workshops, and other AASHE-sponsored events. Members may also access special offers on a variety of products and services from AASHE partners.
- Opportunity to Offer Discounts to AASHE Members - For a $50 charge, non-profit members may offer a special discount on their products and services to AASHE members. The list of special discount offers will be regularly promoted by AASHE, and each new discount will be run once in the Bulletin.
- Collaborative Opportuniites - we engage in partnerships and collaborations with our member associations, organizations, and government agencies. We cross-promote member events and resources related to campus sustainability and offer opportunities to get involved in our programs, such as by becoming a STARS Partner Organization or Discussion Forums Supporter. Examples of long-term partnerships are listed on AASHE's Programs page.
- Access to Resources - AASHE's Resource Center is a rich and comprehensive clearinghouse for campus sustainability information. It contains example policies and plans incorporating sustainability; assessment tools, surveys and reports; publications and how-to guides; job descriptions for campus sustainability staff, sustainability profiles of campuses, extensive publications and databases, and many other resources.
- Publicity - AASHE publicizes and celebrates member achievements through its newsletter, blog, publications, and other communications. You may use the AASHE Member Logo on your website to emphasize your commitment to sustainability. The logo may also be used on signage, reports, brochures, and other publicity or display materials.
- Professional Development - opportunities for professional development include workshops, webinars, and trainings as well as Discussion Forums for sharing knowledge and resources. Non-profit organizations and associations are active participants in our professional development events and discussion forums. Our annual conference & expo brings together individuals from all sectors of higher education, and includes a student summit. AASHE events offer premier networking opportunities - you can connect with other members at regional, national, and international levels to share ideas and collaborate on projects.
- Governance Opportunities - Any member may participate in AASHE committes, working groups, and governance.
- Newsletter - AASHE Bulletin is the premier e-newsletter on sustainability in higher education in North America - and it's free. Sent weekly, it contains the latest news, resources, opportunities, and events related to campus sustainability. In addition there is a twice-early Global Edition.
