AASHE is Hiring:
IT Summer Intern
AASHE is looking for an IT intern who will help with the development of our website and online resource center.
We are looking for candidates who have experience working with the Drupal content management system or a desire to learn more about Drupal.
Teamwork will be important, but candidates should also be self-motivated and capable of meeting deadlines and deliverables without a great deal of supervision.
The IT intern will have the opportunity to work on exciting projects, such as:
- Creating a multimedia library where users can watch sustainability videos and listen to podcasts
- Turning the AASHE Bulletin into an interactive, browsable database
- Implementing IP-based authentication so that website visitors on member campuses are automatically logged in
- Developing specifications for a curriculum database
Desired Skills and Qualifications
Candidates should have at least one year of experience programming in PHP or should be enrolled in a degree program in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Sciences. Some combination of the following is preferred.
- Proficiency with PHP5 or other OOP language
- Javascript/AJAX and/or Actionscript experience
- Experience working with Drupal
- Experience using version control system (subversion)
Location
Interns should be prepared to work remotely from a home office or from our central office in Lexington, Kentucky. The intern will be working primarily with AASHE staff in Durham, NC. As a result, being located in the region would be ideal but not necessary.
Compensation
$10-15/hour, depending on experience.
