At the University of Kentucky we have mandatory direct deposit for all full time employees.  However, we still print and distribute the deposit stub to everyone who has not opted out of receipt.  All benefit and payment information is available online.  Has anyone out there gone to a default practice of not printing the stubs, but allowing folks to request a paper stub if they really want/need it?  Or have you done cost benefit analysis of this type of change?  I am trying to sniff out potential roadblocks before going full bore on this one.  Thanks!

Hey Shane,

Duke University has done this.  They put out a press release here that got picked up by the AASHE Bulletin a while back.  It references savings and efficiencies obtained through retiring the "costly" paper-based system, but doesn't give specific numbers.  Might be worth dropping them a note.  And, if they'd be willing to share those figures, reporting back to us!
