This post is related to STARS, AASHE's Sustainability Tracking, Assessment & Rating System.

It has been almost two years since AASHE launched STARS. Since then, AASHE is proud to report that hundreds of institutions have registered as STARS Participants. While we are encouraged that more than 125 STARS Reports have been submitted for a rating, we recognize that some institutions have difficulty completing their STARS Reports by the submission deadlines. In an effort to make this process as streamlined as possible, AASHE would like your feedback! In reply to this post, please identify any specific ways that we can help all institutions complete STARS.

A recent survey of institutions that were unable to complete their STARS Report revealed the following barriers:

• Lack of time
• Too many other priorities
• STARS Liaison (the primary point of contact) changed during the submission process
• Institution was not confident in data collected by campus staff
• Not enough administrative support
• Lack of full-time sustainability staff
• Lack of funding to hire staff to complete STARS

We appreciate your thoughts and contributions to the enhancement of the STARS Program!
