We are working on several initiatives to decrease waste and increase recycling on campus, including education, outreach literature, and new collection receptacles.   Does anyone know of any funding available for these efforts?

 Jim,

I did a little digging for you and found a few people that may be interested in working with you.  One contact was Fran Metzger who is the Recycling Coordinator for Monmouth County.  She can be reached at (732) 431-7460 or by email at fmetzger@monmouthplanning.com

Another contact is Marie Kruzan who is the Executive Director of the ANJR (Association of New Jersey Recyclers).  She can be reached at (908) 722-7575 or by email at mkruzan@anjr.com.

I hope this information helps you.

Jim,

I have a company, Book Drives, Inc. (www.bookdrivesinc.com) that provides materials for the collection and recycling of books on campus as well as cell phones, pdas, cds, dvds etc.  We provide funding of 22% of the gross sale price of each item that we can sell for you and recycle the remainder.  No cost to you or the school at all.   Many schools have the potential to earn thousands of dollars per semester and have been for 7 years now.

Its an option.

Try better world books. They pay you and provide an easy solution.

Though not a specific list of funders, I wrote a couple of blog pieces that might help in your search for funding.

Part 1

Part 2

Hope this helps.
