COP15; Classroom to Copenhagen
Dear Friends,
We have a very successful program at DePauw University linking climate policy at local, national and international levels to both research in the classroom and activism within government. The DePauw Environmental Policy Project (DEPP) has worked researching Indiana environmental policy in the classroom and then applying thier research by testifying as experts at the Indiana legislature on topics such as mass transit, geothermal, feed-in tarrifs, etc.
This fall, they researched international climate negotiations with the express purpose of applying their knowledge at Copenhagen--blogging from a youth perspective not only on the policy but also the experiece.
They currently have two blogs that 13 students are updating, one of which offers blog posts in five different languages.
I've heard that other universities have other such programs and am very interested in learning more about them!
Thank you,
Missy!; 5th Year Sustainability Intern, DePauw University
