The students at Santa Fe Community College are commuters. We have calculated that over 35% of our GHG emissions come from commuting. I am interested in ideas, best practices that will help address the need to reduce commuting.

Best practices indicate that a commute trip reduction program be launched. This is typically a website providing relevant links and information to sustainable commuting modes, most often centered around a ridesharing system and commuter tracker. Commuters track their commute and can understand their personal footprint while the organization can role up the data to report on commuting GHG reductions saved through a trip reduction program. The RideShark system provides a full commute managmeent sytem centred around rideshare matching and integrated commuter tracking, incentive managment (contests and events), carpool parking managment, integrated surveys, etc.
