Campus Fleet - How to evaluate and track efficiency of use?

I am curious to learn whether any colleges or universities have developed ways to evaulate their vehicle fleets to analyze efficiency and use patterns. At Denison, we are looking at ways to reduce the size of our fleet while still filling the need to get students to events off campus.
