Are there any universities who have adopted the 2030 Challenge requiring that all of their buildings meet high energy efficieincy performance?  If so, what issues have you found?

JR;

As an architect working on a dozen campuses around the country right now, we have yet to encounter anyone who is seriously looking at the 2030 Challenge.  It doesn't appear to be on  institutional radar screens at this time.  I have spoken with architects who are addopting the challenge in their practice.  With some of the recent reports coming out about the efficacy of  LEED, this seems to be the right time to push for 2030.

Our Council on the Environment (COTE) passed a resolution calling for this and we're awaiting an administrative endorsement; a key issue being examined is the rate/schedule of existing building renovation – i.e., can it align w/ the benchmarks fro staged reduction?

Quite separate from this, we have adopted into the 2007-12 Strategic Plan that LEED Silver is required for all new construction and must be considered for all renovation.
