Students

Scholarships

AASHE is inviting colleges and universities to become a Supporting Institution.  Supporting Institutions have generously agreed to provide a scholarship for one or more of their students to attend the conference (including registration and travel).  The Supporting Institution page lists all of the Supporting Institutions for the AASHE conference.  If your college or university is on the list, ask about scholarship opportunities.

Student Summit

A Student Summit is being planned for the afternoon on Sunday, November 9.  If you are interested in attending the summit, please register for it when you register for the conference or update your registration if you have already registered for the conference.  For more information, contact Andrea Webster, Publications and Education Coordinator, andrea@aashe.org or call 859-258-2551.

Career Fair

The Green Leaders Environmental Career Center will host a career fair on the second day of the conference.  This career fair will include a career skills seminar with 5 panelists representing diverse types of employers.  Featured panelists include Doug Brinkley, a LEED AP architect from Pearce Brinkley Cease + Lee and Maria Kingery, co-founder of Southern Energy Management and John Esson of the Green Careers Center.  Over a dozen employers searching for sustainability personnel will be available to talk-one-on-one with job candidates.

Room and Ride Sharing

AASHE is contracting with SpaceShare to facilitate room and ride sharing , thus making the conference more affordable and enhancing networking opportunities.  AASHE encourages you to conserve resources and save money by sharing a ride to the conference, or by sharing a hotel, dorm or residential room with another student.  Local students are providing opportunities for room-mate matching for those who prefer not to stay at a hotel, by generously volunteering to host visiting students in their dorms and/or homes.  Find someone with whom to share a room or a ride at the AASHE conference through the AASHE 2008 SpaceShare page.
