Getting to Raleigh

By Airplane  The Raleigh Convention Center is just 30 minutes away from the Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU).  An East Coast hub, RDU offers nearly 450 daily arrivals and departures on nine major and 16 regional carriers.

By Car  AASHE is contracting with SpaceShare to facilitate ride sharing so that drivers can find their neighbors and carpool. We encourage you to conserve resources and to save money by sharing a ride with someone.

Getting Around Town

Downtown Raleigh has museums, art galleries, a performing arts center that offers over 750 performances annually, North Carolina's only IMAX 3D theatre, numerous concert and live music venues, and historic sites and points of interest—all within a few minutes' walking distance of the new Raleigh Convention Center.

The Greater Raleigh Convention and Visitors Bureau website offers a map of downtown Raleigh and information about downtown attractions.

Taxi cabs are readily available. Raleigh "Cat" buses are plentiful, and the main terminal for CAT is located just a few blocks from the Raleigh Convention Center in Moore Square.

Raleigh has 3 connector style buses that are on order and are to be ready by September, 2008. The connectors will be a complimentary service running continually in the downtown districts.
