While Matt and I set out with the valiant goal of blogging continuously about the Power Shift conference during the Power Shift conference, it's been next-to-impossible thanks to technical difficulties, packed schedules and free-time eaten up by 50 minute lunch lines and long walks between venues. That's not a complaint! The organizers of this conference have done an *amazing* job of planning as best as anyone can for a total inundation of 6,000 students!

Power Shift 2007: Sustainability and Social Change

Power Shift 2007 is the first ever national youth climate summit. Over 5,500 campus based energy activists, community organizers, environmental advocates, and climate change ameliorators have gathered share ideas and inspiration, and also take direct action and lobby on capitol hill. These are the students who convince their Universities to sign onto the President's Climate Commitment, join AASHE, and institutionalize sustainability. It is a historic event that raises the intensity of the fight for climate justice.

Lexington Bike Summit '07

I attended the first Bike Summit to be held in Lexington, KY on Friday and thought the format and the people it was able to attract made it a worthwhile event that other campuses could potentially benefit from.
