Food Day & Campus Sustainability Day

This year San Francisco State University is celebrating Sustainable Food Day on October 24th and Campus Sustainability Day on October 26th. These events focus on the education and subsequent participation of university students in environmental awareness and sustainable living practices.
We are planning numerous fun and educational events:
Sustainable Food Day, Monday October 24th:
~10am-2pm; Tabling on the Quad- Real Food Challenge; Meet your Farmers - Local farms, community gardens, and food access, justice, and associated groups will by tabling and sharing information and volunteer opportunities.
~2:30-4:30pm; Veggie Iron Chef Contest - Students/staff/faculty can participate and find out what is in season throughout the year, learn new recipes, and meet others with similar interests around local, sustainable food.
~5-7pm; Film Screening - "In Search of Good Food"
SF State & AASHE Campus Sustainability Day, Wednesday October 26th:
~10am-4pm; Tabling on the Quad - interactive games - compost survey and pledge - Ban the Bottle Campaign
~Compost Education Plays/Improv around campus
~Cooperative Sustainability Discussions in Open Space
These days incorporate multiple educational and hands-on learning to create a fun and informative atmosphere through which students can become more involved in their campus community and better practice environmental and social integrity. We hope to see you there!
