The Sustainability Department student assistant, Hannah Stone, will be setting up tables inside the Memorial Student Center Lobby for vendors dealing with "Local Foods." The Marshall Community will meet local farmers, dairy producers, student garden personnel and others interested in bring local foods to the area. We have coordinated with businesses/markets/programs around the Huntington area that are implementing green initiatives or bringing local food into the community. They will have the opportunity to share information with the students at tables in the on-campus Student Center. A wide range of groups will be presented here, with each doing its own part to help Huntington be more sustainable.
Another student-led project will be a clothing drive during the month of October. Bins will be in each resident hall and the Memorial Student Center to collect clothing donation. All donations will go to the Huntington City Mission. Items requested are: good used or new coats, gloves, sweaters, scarves, hats and cooking utensils.
